I am passionate about helping people learn to make sense of the numbers on the page. Whether I am speaking with individuals, program directors, entrepreneurs, or to a group at a workshop, my goal is to explain money concepts in a clear and easy to understand manner. Understanding how money works helps people make confident decisions about their money and future. I explain complex financial concepts to people who possess only a basic interest and understanding of finances and accounting.
I have worked as an accountant for the past 12 years in post-secondary institutes in both Canada and Qatar. I spend the last 6 years teaching accounting at the Doha University of Science and Technology formerly CNA-Qatar.
I received my CPA, CMA designation in 2010, completed a Master in Financial Management from the University of Alberta in 2012, and received my Qualified Associate Financial Planner™ certification in 2014.
I have presented at the following events and conferences:
- MacEwan University Child Care Conference, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada (2016 and 2017)
- How Women Work Conference, Doha, Qatar (2015 and 2016)
- University Calgary, Qatar Healthy Universities Initiative, Doha, Qatar (2015)
- Town of Banff Community Courses, Banff, Alberta, Canada (2015)
